Amarin Community Fund - 2025 Review

Back in January we launched the Amarin Community Fund. The purpose of the fund was to allow our team to support causes close to their heart without having to reach into their own pocket. We have supported staff, customers, families and the wider community.

Mostly our donations have been monetary but we have also donated our time as a team. We will continue this work into next year but it seems a good time to reflect on all the amazing things we have done this year.

Weston Foodbank – Twice this year Weston Foodbank has requested urgent support. The charity help families who are struggling with food packages. Amarin have donated two large ASDA shops to the charity in 2025.

Coxley Primary School (Wells) – Aron’s sister works at Coxley Primary School in Wells. Aron’s nieces also attend the school. When they were raising money for new play equipment Amarin made a donation to help.

Great Britain Gymnasts – Rhu’s partner’s nephew Archie is an elite level gymnast. Along with team partner Sam they were trying to raise enough money to travel to compete in the European Championships in Luxembourg. We made a donation and the boys bought home silver medals!

Jurassic Coast Ultra Challenge – The wife of one of our longest tenured customers was completing the the Jurassic Coast Ultra Challenge for Children Hospice South West. We made a donation towards her great cause.

Bob Rees – Very sadly Rob’s father passed away earlier this year. We made a donation to MacMillan Cancer Research in his memory.

The Brightwell – Our partners at the Drive Bristol North Pitbulls ice hockey took part in a charity abseil down the Village Hotel in Bristol. This was to raise money for The Brightwell, in Bradley Stoke, Bristol, provides oxygen therapy, physiotherapy and support to those living with chronic neurological conditions. Amarin made a donation to their wonderful fundraising efforts.

Cancer Research UK – A member of Alex’s baseball team, Lee Sergant, raised money for Cancer Research UK in memory of a family member. Lee shaved his famous mohawk, and rather epic beard, for charity. The company made a donation to support this amazing cause.

The Godney Gathering – In July Aron is a huge part of the organising committee for the Godney Gathering music festival. The company released the team for a day to go to site and help build the various stages and fencing required to make the event a safe success.

The Legendary Grand Tour 2025 – Our very own Wanda, along with partner Graham, took part in the mini run to Devon. The weekend saw a huge fleet of Mini Coopers visit a Children’s Hospital each decked out in various decorations and costumes. The tour raised money for Children’s Hospice SW and Amarin made a generous donation.

Mike Daniells – Lifelong friend of Aron and co-organiser of Godney Gathering, Mike Daniells’ wife Sue has been fighting cancer this year. Mike has been raising money for The Beacon Centre at Musgrove Hospital where Sue was treated. Aron requested we help support this great cause and so, of course, we did.

Weston Rugby Club Youth Program – Local rugby club Weston RFC made a request to their community to help them fund their expansive Youth rugby setup. Alex’s son, Charlie, plays for them and has seen first hand the great work the club do. With that in mind we donated funds to help them move forward in the future.

Luke Parsons Memorial Cup – In recent year’s Aron lost a close friend, and team mate at Tor Rugby, Luke Parsons. Every year the club do a memorial game to raise money for charities chosen by Luke’s family. This year Amarin not only made a donation but also mobilised their contacts to get some amazing prizes for the raffle on the day.

Nantyglo Football Club – Another of our long standing customers was raising money to support the future of his football club. During conversations he said the club was in danger of folding and so, along with a number of other supporters, we made a donation to help secure the club’s future.

Dean Malen – Friend of Rob, Dean, was raising money for a very good friend passed away suddenly in his sleep, leaving behind his amazing wife Charlotte and their two beautiful girls, Poppy and Ayda. On 8th November 2025, Dean and 2 close mates will take on 40 miles with 40kg on their backs.

745 Game – Our partner’s Gloucester Rugby hosted this year’s 745 Game. The game is a cross code rugby game to raise money for Motor Neurone Disease. The game remembers Rob Burrows, Dodie Weir and supports Ed Slater who have been struck down with the awful disease. Amarin made a donation to the cause in support.

Weston General Hospital A & E – With our final donation of the year the team decided to donate 3 full bags of toys, sweets, books. The supplies went to the Accident & Emergency department at Weston General Hospital. Christmas is a horrible for anyone to end up in hospital but especially children. Hopefully these little things can make this more manageable.

Everyone at Amarin are very proud of our community work this year and look forward to doing more good in 2026.
