January 2025 - Review
Happy New Year, are we still saying that? I can’t believe the first month of the new year is done already.
We have had a very busy month at Amarin, and in lots of different ways. First off we had a really good month of sales. The team worked very hard to overcome some annual leave, some sickness and the January blues to beat last January’s impressive number. Credit to the workshop guys Lewis and Rhu for getting through a heavy workload. Credit to the office Mariet and Wanda for chasing up our suppliers and customers to ensure things flowed as they should. Aron and I, coming off a very busy calendar run in December have been out and about looking at projects for customers.
February has a really good amount of work ready to go. With only two months left in the business year we are still on schedule for a fantastic year. Huge credit to all the hard work from everyone involved.
This month has also seen us host the Somerset Chamber of Commerce Business Awards judges. Having been shortlisted for the “Albert Goodman Family Business of the Year Award” in December we hosted a 3 hour visit from Michael Cahill and Mark Thompson from Albert Goodman. They spoke to all our staff individually, as well as Alex. Even Ian called in from Sydney, Australia at 3am to contribute! The visit went very well, the judges were very impressed. Now we wait for their decision about whether we make the final three and attend the gala dinner in March. Fingers crossed!
We made a few additions to our site last month including a wonderful Amarin Family Tree. These little things help us all remember all the great things we have done as a team and were a group effort. I’m sure we’ll have more adventures soon but we’ve done some great things in the last few years.
Finally we were very happy and proud to make our first donation as part of the “Amarin Community Fund“. We sent a large food delivery to the Weston Foodbank. Lewis and Wanda delivered over 75kg of essential items to help the charity support local families in need at this tough time. A great cause, and one we are very happy to support.
As always thank you to our staff, customers and suppliers for their support.
Alex
