Time To Get Round The Table
wIt is every company’s biggest challenge to remain relevant and forward thinking. It is easy to sit back and rest on customers and processes that have been long since reliable and successful. The hardest part of any business is to grow and expand. With that in mind the team at Amarin have recently held and all-staff meeting to discuss all things Amarin.
Hosted by, and suggested by, Field Sales Manager Aron Charles and Sales Coordinator Mariet Plaistow this meeting happened two weeks ago today. The duo are keen to help Amarin reach it’s goals in the short, medium and long term. The best way to do this is with the input of all our staff. Staff feeling invested in and listened to has always helped shape the Amarin ethos. A tremendous amount of time and effort went into the presentation by both members of staff. This work helped to facilitate and interesting and fruitful staff conversation. Many topics were covered from what we are and what we want to be, to where we should go for a Christmas night out.
The meeting started off with a team breakfast. This ensured everyone was comfortable and relaxed be moving on to our meeting room. Aron and Mariet both offered excellent PowerPoint presentations to the group. These were followed with breakout sessions where the team worked in small groups. The small groups were then tasked to come up with ideas on a given subject. This coupled with larger group brainstorms within the meeting ensured everyone got to voice an opinion, submit ideas and feel included in the process.
During the meeting we explored what stands us out from our competition. We also covered who we are competing against and what their strengths might be. The idea of this was to make sure that we continue to do well at what we excel at, and what stands us apart from others. The engagement from the team was brilliant throughout and everyone came away with a better understanding of what we’re trying to do as a business.
Following the meeting work is ongoing on numerous things behind the scenes to give the company a direction and a process to achieve our goals. I am sure this won’t be the last meeting of it’s type at Amarin. A big thank you to the team, in particular Aron and Mariet.
