SCCC - Player Sponsor Day
On a roasting hot afternoon Alex attended Somerset County Cricket Club‘s annual “Player Sponsor Day”.
The event took place in the, thankfully, air conditioned long room at The Cooper Associates County Ground. Almost all members of the Men’s and Women’s squads were in attendance, along with their various sponsors. From England internationals to first season professionals the event gave everyone a relaxed environment to enjoy themselves.
Seated with Amarin sponsored players Lewis Goldsworthy and Niamh Holland Alex was able to have great conversations with them both. In addition Alex was joined by Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Ellie Anderson and Ruby Davis of Somerset. Although we sponsored Lewis for the second half of last season this was our first time at this event. Being able to spend quality time getting to know both players was great and interesting.
After a brief introduction from Commercial Sales Executive, Will Hall-Tomkin, the room were treated to a Somerset themed quiz. Largely thanks to Tom Kohler-Cadmore’s knowledge the Amarin infused table came second overall by half a point! We are assured they were robbed.
A delicious Italian themed lunch followed with more conversations. When the plates had been cleared away it was time for shirt signings and photographs with the glorious backdrop of the legendary County Ground.
Both Lewis and Niamh are in action tomorrow night in the doubleheader as the Women take on Durham while the men renew their local rivalry with Gloucestershire. Both games are under the Vitality Blast T20 format.
We appreciate the tremendous hospitality the club always offer us and our ever increasing partnership. Keep an eye and ear out tomorrow night for our announcements and hoarding appearances if you’re going to the games. Plenty of great action to come this summer and we’re proud to be along for the ride.
