A warm Amarin welcome to Niamh Holland

Amarin are proud to announce their first ever female sponsored athlete. Somerset Women’s cricketer Niamh Holland joins the Amarin Family for the 2026 season.

Having recently signed a new contract until 2029 Somerset Vice-Captain Niamh has started the 2026 season on fire! With 5 Vitality Blast matches played so far this season Niamh sits 3rd in the overall wicket taking charts. At just 21 years old Niamh is one of the most exciting talents in the County game.

Born in Langford, less than half an hour from Amarin’s base, Niamh is a lifelong Somerset supporter. Now getting to star for, lead, and succeed for her childhood club Niamh: “I’m absolutely buzzing to sign an extension. Obviously, Somerset is my childhood club, so I’m delighted because I couldn’t dream of playing anywhere else. I love Taunton. If you gave me any ground in the world, I’d pick Taunton. I’ve grown up here. I’ve been coming here since I was 10 to watch and things like that, so it’s like dream come true to sign with Somerset again.”

Amarin Rubber & Plastics MD, Alex Howells said: “We have found real value in our sports partnerships from a commercial and community standpoint. Somerset have been a wonderful partner in our work with Lewis Goldsworthy. We thank them for helping us make this happen. For a long time now I have wanted to add a female player to our sponsorship family. We very much value the growth in the Women’s sports and the opportunities that profile in this field presents.”

Somerset Head Coach, Erin Osborne said: “Niamh is an exciting young talent, and we’re really encouraged by what she offers with both bat and ball, as well as the influence she has off the field. She’s recently been elevated into our leadership group, which says a great deal about her character and the respect she has among the squad. I’m looking forward to watching her continue to develop her game here at Somerset.”

Somerset CCC Director of Talent & Women’s Performance, Matt Drakeley: “Niamh is a really important player for the future of Somerset Women, so we are delighted to have secured her until the end of 2029. She has come through our pathway, has a strong connection to Somerset and the South West, and is someone who we believe has a big role to play now and the ability to become even more influential in the years ahead. She is part of our leadership group for 2026, and we are excited to see both her game and her influence continue to develop.”

Welcome to the Amarin Family Niamh, we look forward to working with you.
