Pentathlon Carnival Club 2025 - Carnivals of Shadows
The 2025 Somerset County Guy Fawkes Carnivals Association has now come to an end. What an amazing few weeks it has been.
Our partners at Pentathlon Carnival Club came an impressive second place in the Tableaux County Cup. Their entry named, “The Carnival of Shadows” was themed around the city of Venice. Venice is a city that invites exploration, not just for its beauty but for its enigmatic and mysterious side. The legends, ghost stories, and hidden passageways are an integral part of its charm. Offering a glimpse into a past that still lingers in the shadows. As you wander through its narrow streets and across its haunted bridges, keep an open mind. The city, like the cart, means you never know what mysterious tales might reveal themselves.
The cart was designed, built and manned by the club’s volunteer workforce. Accompanied by a haunting version of Abba’s “Lay All Your Love On Me” the cart carried an amazing aura through the dark streets of the the towns and cities it visited.
Amarin played our small part in this amazing venture by donating man hours to help with some of the intricate wood work needed for the cart. Once again designed by the Pentathlon team these parts were cut our CNC router. Once painted and placed on the cart they completed the look of old Venice perfectly. We also produced the lettering on the front of the cart that was then stunningly bought to life by the team. The photographs come from the Weston Carnival.
Having been involved in last year’s “Outlaws” entry we can’t wait to see what 2026 holds. Two things are for sure it will be spectacular and we’ll be here waiting to offer our assistance. Well done to everyone involved with “The Carnival of Shadows”. See you next year!
