Parsons Memorial Cup - A Huge Success!
Recently Amarin supported Aron, and Tor Rugby Club, in their fundraising efforts at their annual “Parsons Memorial Cup“.
The event was a huge success on and off the field. Tor ran out 72-0 winners against Dorchester RFC. The result didn’t matter at all and both teams celebrated the memory of former team mate Luke Parsons deep into the sun soaked evening. On the day Tor produced a squad of nearly 30 players who wanted to be involved. Dorchester bought a squad of current players and veterans for the game.
Amarin’s involvement had been to support the raffle. We had been lucky enough to be supported by a number of our brilliant customers and suppliers. We had also been offered some amazing prizes from our sponsorship partners. Somerset CCC and Amarin jointly donated 4 tickets to a game at the Cooper Associates County Ground. Somerset also donated a match worn Migael Pretorius shirt. Gloucester Rugby sent us 2 tickets to their upcoming fixture with Northampton at wonderful Kingsholm. Although no longer an active partner former Amarin sponsored player Ross Vintcent donated a match worn Exeter Chiefs shirt. We are truly humbled of this support and shows we pick our partners wisely.
The event raised many hundreds of pounds in Luke’s memory. The Parson’s Family are currently deciding how to use the money to best remember Luke.
We are very proud to play some small part in the event. Aron was very happy with the way the day went.
Tor have started the season very strongly and we have plans to take one of our sponsored players down to “Brian Harbinson Memorial Park” soon for a youth training session. After the huge success of Ross Vintcent’s visit last year it promises to be a brilliant night. But in the meantime congratulations to everyone involved in delivering a successful event in the name of their much loved team mate.
