August 2024 - Review
Well it certainly isn’t boring at Amarin!
This month has been everything all wrapped up into one. We’ve had crazy busy days, slightly quiet days, mad rushes and plenty of annual leave to contend with. I even managed to take a few days off with my family for the first time since taking over and the team coped without me, as I knew they would.
The team really enjoyed the raft building afternoon (Team Building) in the middle of the month. Discussions are already taking place about what they’d like to do as a team next. Various suggestions from learning to DJ to Frisbee Golf have been muted. These days are so good for morale and team spirit that I will always support them where possible.
On a numbers front this month, once again, bettered its 2023 counterpart. We put a lot of pressure on our suppliers this month and, to their credit, they almost all delivered. We are grateful to work with some amazing companies and only really label things urgent when they legitimately are. This helps us build a trust with them that when we do sound the alarm it means something. The month is about 5% up on last year which is a nice steady growth.
Excitingly I attended Bristol Honda Pitbulls ice hockey team’s pre-season event at West Country Water Park (Park). This event allowed me to officially meet our sponsored player for the coming season, Tommy Nappier. I presented him with his Amarin branded jersey which he will wear while goaltending for the team this season. The team start pre-season this weekend with a game at “The Pound” against Slough Jets.
Looking forward to next month we have a good amount of orders on the books already. Things have definitely started to pick up industry wide from conversations I’m having. The end of school holidays, no more bank holidays and the likes all help for things to get back to normal. Aron and I are ready to get back out and see more of our customers as making appointments gets a bit easier with people being back in the office. Lets make September another good one!
