Jack's the Mann for Weston Rugby youngsters

On a rainy Wednesday night at The Recreation Ground Weston Rugby Club’s Under 14s were treated to a visit from Gloucester Rugby number 8 Jack Mann. Jack is sponsored this season by Amarin and was keen to help us support our local community.

Following a dominant, try scoring, debut for Gloucester in last Friday’s win over Munster Jack headed to the seaside. Although carrying a slight injury from the game Jack joined in with the session with a group of around 20 youngsters. Offering technical advice, support and encouragement Jack was a huge hit with the boys.

Following the session Jack stayed to sign autographs and take photos with the kids. Amarin had had some special autograph cards made to ensure everyone took home a memento from the evening. As always Jack was great company and really made an impression on the rugby stars of tomorrow.

Amarin MD Alex, “For Jack to be so keen to be involved is fantastic. We had a great relationship with Ross (Vintcent) and Tommy (Nappier) last season and Jack is no different. Hopefully we can do more with him this season”.

Weston Rugby Under 14 coach Phil Dando, “Perfect mate. Loving the stitches as well! Great to have a current player for the boys to meet and look up to.”

Jack is hoping to be fit in time for the Gallagher Premiership opener against Sale later this month. After his impressive debut Director of Rugby George Skivington said: “I thought his work rate was outstanding, particularly covering that back three lad who was going down the wing. It is a real shame he had to come off. I am not sure how bad his shoulder is. Fingers crossed it is not too bad because it is disappointing for him because he looked sharp.”

Thank you for your time Jack everyone really appreciated it.
