Case Study:
Treated Polyester Fabrics (PVC) for a National chain of laundries
Overview
When anyone, anywhere does laundry there is a build of up of lint, dust, and other microbes that you would not necessarily want to float around in the air we all breath. Now scale that up to an industrial size laundry dealing with millions of pieces of laundry each year. That is a lot of nasty bits and pieces in the air. Our customer told us that the areas where the majority of this gets into the air is at the point where the waste leaves their system and is disposed of in large open topped bins.
Solution
Working with a partner who specialise in the manufacture of caravan accessories Amarin designed some soft, washable, PVC material funnels to ensure that nothing escapes in the process of clearing the extraction system. These funnels function as a reducer from the smaller pipe carrying the waste into the large opening of the bin. It was secured, both top and bottom, with bungee ropes to ensure a tight fit and reduce any further dust. The customer was very happy and has since ordered additional funnels in various sizes to do the same job around the factory.
