Weston super Mare Golf Club - Captain's Day 2026

Sunday 30th August 2026 is the annual Captain’s Day at Weston super Mare Golf Club.

Each year the sitting Captain selects a chosen “Charity of the Year”. That charity is then the beneficiary of various fundraising activities throughout the Captain’s tenure. The current Captain is local businessman John Davidson. As a local Contract ERP Programme Director John works with companies of all sizes with his company “We Are ERP“.

John approached Amarin Managing Director, Alex, regarding sponsorship of his event. Given the work that Amarin do to support local charities, including Weston Hospicecare (John’s chosen charity) it was something that fit in with the Amarin Community Fund and the wider businesses goals.

On the day Amarin will be the sponsor of the iconic, and very demanding 18th hole. On the hole, which decides who wins and who loses, Amarin will be represented by on tee marketing. The Club presents some of the most awe inspiring holes in the South West, including the 5th which sees the beach and sea hug the right side of the fairway!

The 18th hole, or Amarin’s hole for the day, “This hole looks straight but it’s not. A line from the men’s tee to the green is looking down the left hand rough. A tee shot hit at the right hand fairway bunker will give you a good line in to the green. This is another hole were the bunkers at the front of the green have dead ground beyond them. Take enough club to get you well on the green.” says PGA Professional, Ben Lock.

We hope the day raises a massive amount of money for Weston Hospicecare. Amarin wish John, and his team, all the very best in his fundraising efforts. As a business, employing entirely staff from the Somerset area, we are very proud to be involved.
