The Amarin Open
On a blistering hot day in Bristol the Amarin team took part in the first, possibly only, Amarin Open!

Starting with 12 holes of Foot Golf the team followed that up with 12 holes of Frisbee Golf. The course at Windmill Leisure was undulating with heavy rough either side of the narrow fairways. With holes of up to 200 yards at a time it was a challenge! The team all threw themselves into the activities and laughed their way through the day. With a blanket ban on work talk the day was the light hearted break from our manic workdays it was intended to be.

After the Foot Golf Alex and Rhu were tied for the lead. Everyone had done well with all players pulling off a spectacular shot or two. The Frisbee Golf, played over the same course, was considerably more challenging. The unpredictable flight of the frisbee, the increasing wind and the baking heat made the second round…not as impressive. Frisbee to the left, frisbee to the right. One lost for good in a bush and plenty of searching long grass for a grass coloured plastic disc. It was however a lot of fun.

After 24 holes the winner of the Amarin Open was Alex, Rhu second and Dan in third. The positions didn’t matter it had been enjoyed by all.
As we retired to the clubhouse for lunch and a well deserved drink the conversation continued to flow. Still no work talk so stories, jokes and a review of a successful team building experience. Back to the grind for the team today (30th July). Lots of work to do before month end and already a very busy August in store.
Thank you to all the staff at Windmill Leisure, who were brilliant hosts, we will be back in the future. Now to plan our Christmas event…
