Profile - Ian Howells (Founder & Managing Director)
With one week to our 20th birthday, we look at one half of the team that started Amarin 20 years ago…
Ian, along with business partner Martin Dibble, was a founder of Amarin Rubber & Plastics in 2003.
Following a career that saw him move from the workshop to the Sales Office, from the Sales Office to a customer facing Sales Representative role and finally to the Boardroom, the time was right to start his own company.
Along with former colleague Martin, Ian knew what sort of business he wanted Amarin to be. Service would be the cornerstone of the business with every effort made to ensure that our customers were having their needs met.
A keen footballer since childhood, a lifelong Bristol City FC fan and a devoted husband, father and grandad, Ian has many interests outside of the business. Travel has become another love in Ian’s life. Travelling the world has included Christmas in Australia, safari in South Africa and a road trip along the West Coast of the United States.
As the business has grown, staff and premises have come and gone, the one constant from day one to today is Ian’s presence at the helm. With Amarin now in its purpose-built premises, a fantastic staff in place and in house capability never higher, Ian’s legacy at Amarin Rubber & Plastics is something we are all very proud of.
