Line Out Masterclass
The Weston-super-Mare Rugby Club Under 15s were graced, once again, by the presence of a special guest last night.

Gloucester Rugby second/back row Jack Mann, now in his second season as an Amarin sponsored player, joined training at Sunnyside Road. With the team’s first competitive game of the season this weekend training was at it’s best. This season the team have to lift in line outs for the first time. When Alex had mentioned this to Jack at a recent meeting at Kingsholm he was keen to help.

In the autumnal evening sunset Jack, assisted by Weston coaches, put the pack through their paces. Offering advice and tips along the way the team listened intently. By the end of the session the line out looked very good indeed. We have been able to bring everyone’s favourite Scotsman to training on a few occasions now and every time he attends he is a great presence and role model for the boys. Delivering his message in a way that can be understood easily and with great positivity the team always take his words on board.

The night was a huge hit with everyone. Head Coach Gary Moore, “He’s a top bloke and good to get his experience especially in the lineouts. Thanks”. Jack himself enjoyed his evening, “Every time I see the team they’ve improved so much, it’s great to see.” Amarin MD Alex Howells, “To be able to bring someone of Jack’s calibre to training is great for the team. The rugby club is a big part of the Weston super Mare community and we love being able to support it”.
The team take on Oldfield Old Boys RFC on Sunday in a repeat of their Cup Final last season. Things are looking positive headed into the new season. Good luck to the team and to Jack for the rest of the season with Gloucester Rugby.
