Kingsholm Stadium Secondary School Festival
Amarin Rubber & Plastics were invited to be part of Gloucester Rugby Charitable Foundation‘s “Kingsholm Stadium Secondary School Festival on 11th June.

Following the conclusion of our first season as a sponsor of the club we continue to work with the Charitable Foundation. Throughout the year we have been lucky enough to call upon Jack Mann to help us reach out to our community and support the Foundation. This time however it was Alex who joined the team at the home of the Shed.
On the day local schools from Gloucestershire came to Kingsholm for the day. The schools involved were:-
Wyedean School & Sixth Form Centre
SGS Forest High School (Cinderford)
Stratford upon Avon School & Sixth Form

The day revolved around the schools getting a chance to play on the Kingsholm turf. Split into groups of boys and girls the groups had half a day’s rugby. The other half was classroom based talks. Whereas Alex gave a talk about “Communication” and how important it is to opening doors and life in general other speakers included the Holly Gazzard Trust and The Fire Service. The groups also got a tour of Kingsholm on what was a great way to spend a day off school!

Despite the rain the day was a huge success. Simon Weaver, Head of Charitable Delivery, and Rhian Gower, Secondary & Young Adult Educational Lead, were both very happy with the second annual event.
Alex’s presentation took place in the iconic “Lion’s Den” bar and focussed on building communication skills. As an advocate of skills of this type opening as many doors as qualifications for the students the talks were interactive and well received. Many of the school staff commented how useful the talk had been. This coupled with talks on other life skills and First Aid gave the day a rounded offering.

We thank the club for their hospitality and hope the students had a wonderful day at Kingsholm.
