Bits & Pieces
If you were to walk into our workshop you would see a large number of bits and pieces. Because we convert such a wide range of materials we are often left with short rolls. We also end up with part sheets and even hoses of a less than ideal length. Rather than send these offcuts to landfill (Hard to recycle) we try to reuse these on other jobs. One of the big benefits of doing so much our work here, in house, is the ability to use the stuff that we’ve had left from other jobs. This helps us keep our waste down and helps with profitability. It can also mean we can often solve a problem for customers from stock.
We hold over 10 different types of rubber in stock, each with their own characteristics (Rubber). We have 3 different types of PVC (PVC) curtain too. In plastic (Plastic) we have so many different types it is almost impossible to count. Some of these bits might big, some small but that is the beauty of it. When someone rings in a panic for an A4 sized piece of 10mm Nylon…we might just have it. You wouldn’t believe how many times a week we can get a whole job turned around from stock material.
This level of stock material gives us the opportunity to help out a member of our local community. We often get people dropping who may pop in looking for, “A little bit of…”. We’ve made seals for a kettle, a windscreen for a speed boat and sponge pads to catch eggs falling out of a chicken! We are usually able to find something on our shelves to help. This wouldn’t be possible without our bits and pieces. We ensure that everything is wrapped and labelled to make life easier for our team.
If you ever think, “I wonder if Amarin could help with that…” then give us a call (Contact Us) and one of our lovely team will happily have a rummage around for you and see if we can help!
