Weston RFC Under 14s at Kingsholm

What a night!

Amarin Rubber & Plastics Ltd were proud to provide 50 members of the Weston RFC Under 14s community the chance to visit Kingsholm last Friday. Kingsholm is the home of Gloucester Rugby. This was a thank you for Amarin’s support across the community and especially the schools project. The club had also decided to make a presentation to Jack Mann. This was to thank him for his support and assistance throughout their 2025/26 season.

A 20 strong playing squad were treated to a night to remember. Having assembled in the thriving Gloucester Fanzone the boys were issued with Gloucester Rugby flags. Furthermore they were called upon for multiple photo ops with “Kingsley” the mascot lion. The team met with Jack Mann on the pitch where he was presented with a rare, limited edition, Weston RFC 150 year anniversary ball.

As the icon “Shed” filled to the brim the team were escorted around the pitch by Head of Charitable Delivery, Simon Weaver. The boys were given a rapturous applause by the Shed and even serenaded with a trademark “GGGlllaaawwwsssttteeerrr” chant. As they completed their pitch parade the boys gathered on the sidelines. Just yards in front of them the Sale Sharks were completing their warm ups.

Once the Cherry & Whites had completed their own lap of the Kingsholm pitch the boys formed a Guard of Honour. They were ready for the entrance of the two teams. Accompanied by fireworks, blaring notes of Ozzy Osbourne’s “Crazy Train” and, of course, the roar from the crowd the team waved their flags in support of the home team.

The team returned to their seats, greeted by a 30 strong supporting cast of friends and family. On the pitch Gloucester Rugby ran out 21-15 winners much to the crowd’s delight.

Post game the team gathered for autographs and photographs with various Gloucester players, including the returning Jack Mann. They were also very excited to meet former British & Irish Lions Captain and Welsh Rugby legend Sam Warburton. The final photo of the evening went to England Fly Half George Ford.

We thank Gloucester Rugby for making this night possible. Hopefully there is plenty more to come from this shared relationship.
